D1B: RESET AND CONFIGURATION TECHNIQUES FOR MOTORBIKES

OBJECTIVES:
To learn to use autodiagnostic resources to connect to and communicate with motorcycle control units. To understand typical IDC5 autodiagnostic pages. To understand the diagnostic systems applied to motorcycles using the main diagnostic and coding procedures permitted by TEXA tools.

COURSE CONTENTS:
Electronic systems and the difference between diagnosis and autodiagnosis. How to establish communication between your diagnostic tool and a motorcycle’s electronic control units. Developments in diagnostic methods: Blink Code diagnostics, Slow Code diagnostics, serial diagnostics. Autodiagnostic pages in IDC5: parameters, errors, states, ECU info, activations and settings. Diagnostic procedures for adjusting CO emissions: Suzuki, Ducati, Buel, Piaggio. Procedures for resetting carburation parameters. Exhaust gas analysis measurements and diagnosing emission problems.
