D1T: RESET AND CONFIGURATION TECHNIQUES FOR TRUCK

OBJECTIVES:
To acquire basic functioning concepts and strategies for dealing with errors in the latest generation of control units. To learn how to use the “Vehicle Check-up” function for diagnostics and troubleshooting and to learn the procedures for resetting and configuring electrical and electronic systems on modern vehicles after maintenance or repair.

COURSE CONTENTS:
Use of TEXA software for autodiagnosis, vehicle/system selection methods and scanning with Total Vehicle Errors. Interpreting engineering parameters, errors and states; the ISO page, activations and settings. Introduction to electronic systems: engine control, ABS/EBS, automatic transmissions, suspensions and retarders. Analysis of engine diagnostic procedures (cylinder deactivation, Volvo cylinder balance); electronic control unit replacement (WABCO EBS for trailers); suspension calibration (Mercedes, Iveco); service resets (Mercedes); clutch initialisation (Mercedes, MAN, Volvo).
