NEW ADAS ADVERTISEMENT IN THE WAKE OF THE SIXTIES
NEW ADAS ADVERTISEMENT IN THE WAKE OF THE SIXTIES
The ADAS, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems governed by cameras and radars, are ever more common in all cars, city cars included. In fact, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, pedestrian and road sign detection, automatic parking – to name just a few – ensure unprecedented levels of road safety.

Serving automotive professionals since 1992, TEXA has developed state-of-the-art equipment, called RCCS, for servicing and repairing these sophisticated systems, on which the safety of the vehicle and its occupants depends ever more. The advertising campaign, created in-house by TEXA’s graphics department, recalls a period of time when cars were completely without electronics: the late Sixties.

Inspiration was drawn from the iconic cover of the “Abbey Road” album by The Beatles, with the four band members walking across the road in front of their recording studio in London.

An image that has remained in history and social imaginary for its countless graphic elaborations: every year, thousands of tourists from all over the world visit the area, which has been declared a historic landmark by the British government, to have a picture taken while they walk on the zebra crossing.

Pedestrian crossing detection is indeed one of the classic functions of the ADAS, hence the witty idea of a vehicle that does not detect silhouettes properly due to a fault and therefore requires an accurate calibration using TEXA’s solution.

With this advertisement, TEXA wanted to introduce a more evocative and ironic image in the automotive world, where products are usually simply described, trusting that it will get a smile out of its customers.
