What’s new in IDC5 CAR 70
FCA authenticated diagnosis
In 2017, the FCA Group introduced protective measures to inhibit the possibility of intervening on their latest models. Following this decision, TEXA has collaborated with FCA to arrange in the IDC5 software everything necessary to allow customers to carry out the FCA diagnosis directly from their TEXA tool, in total safety and compliance, on the vehicles equipped with the SGW control unit.
Through IDC5 CAR, mechanics can log in to the FCA website and purchase the tokens required to proceed with the FCA diagnosis directly from their TEXA tool. The software sends an alert whenever a specific vehicle is equipped with a SGW control unit, showing vehicle repairers a specific message that allows them to access the FCA authenticated diagnosis.
FCA has made available this first version in “Field Test” mode: your cooperation in reporting any anomalies that you might experience while using it will be highly appreciated.
Starting from this update, RCCS 2 is available: the new complete, professional solution that is ideal for carrying out all the camera and radar calibration operations. RCCS 2 allows mechanics to work independently in all phases of repair, providing a simple, safe and highly professional service.
The system comprises a robust main support with electrically powered height adjustment and a practical knob at the rear of the unit for the adjustment of perpendicularity with respect to the vehicle. The adjustment bar is equipped with two distance meters and a sliding reflector plate with a central laser for front radar pointing.
An additional laser level at the top of the unit locates the centre of the vehicle simply by pointing at its front logo. This advanced technology allows you to position and align the unit easily, accurately and safely with respect to the vehicle and the floor.
The IDC5 CAR software guides the technician step by step throughout the procedures, thanks to the dedicated help sheets specifically developed for each vehicle.
DoIP NODE is the multi-brand adapter developed by TEXA that allows carrying out high-speed DoIP (Diagnosis Over Internet Protocol) diagnostic operations on the new vehicles, such as VOLVO, LAND ROVER and JAGUAR, that support the ISO 1340 UDP/TCP communication protocol, a new architecture that manufacturers are beginning to implement along with the traditional CAN-BUS line. The use of the DoIP NODE represents a great advantage for mechanics, as they
do not have to replace the TEXA instrumentation they already own, but simply integrate its operation using it when the vehicle they are working on requires it. Starting from the IDC5 CAR version 70, after selecting the vehicle, a new button is available: STARTDoIP, which allows starting the diagnosis on the vehicles equipped with this communication protocol.
